BSO's newest detention facility is a direct supervision jail where staff works more closely with inmates and inmate movement is kept to a minimum housing male and female inmates in separate areas. Programs offered to inmates include Conflict Resolution, Anger Management, HIV/AIDS education, substance abuse treatment, job skills, and effective parenting. The center provides a safe, secure, and humane environment that promotes the welfare and socialization of detainees offering self-help education programs and participation in various intra-institution work assignments. The center consists of six double-celled, Medium/Minimum Security housing units with a double-celled segregation unit. The entire facility has been designed to be American Correctional Association (ACA) compliant. Services provided include Adult Basic Education (ABE), Pre-GED, GED, Therapeutic Community, Life Skills, Subsstance Abuse, Protective Custody, and Vocational courses.
